The Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University is a research institute in the field of science studies. It has an extensive expertise in the use of bibliometric and scientometric methods to support research evaluation and research governance. Both in the Netherlands and internationally, the institute plays a prominent role in ongoing discussions about responsible research assessment. In the ARIA project, CWTS contributes to the development of new forms of research intelligence that can be used to support more responsible approaches to recognition and rewards of researchers.
